Patricia Kay Lewis was born in Kansas City, MO on November 30, 1944 and was adopted by Roy and Marie Lewis of Beloit, KS at the age of six weeks. She died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Mitchell County Hospital at the age of 71 years, 4 months, and 28 days.
Pat grew up in Beloit and attended both St. John's Catholic grade school and high school, graduating in 1962. She fulfilled her life long ambition by immediately entering the Salina Beauty Academy, graduating and returning to Beloit to found Pat's Hairworks, a full service Aveda concept salon, which she guided successfully for 46 years. She believed in the importance of "look good, feel good" and was an advocate of style for success. Retirement arrived in 2007. Pat's other passion was traveling, with many trips to all parts of the world including Hong Kong, Italy, France and all parts of the United States. Upon her retirement she treated the family and grandchildren to an excursion to Belize, Central America.
Pat married Harold Heidrick of Beloit on June 22, 1963. Two sons and a daughter blessed this union of 52 years and ten grandchildren became the focal point of her life. A diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer in March of 2007 did not detour this remarkable woman from being the world's best grandmother and her spirit, determination, sense of style, and class lives on in each of their lives.
Left to celebrate her life and continue to be inspired by her is her husband Harold and their three children Greg (Rachel), and children Hannah Feipel (Jake), Levi (fiancée Ashlynn), Zachary and Samuel. Son Brad (Gwyn), and children Brady, Dillon and Cassidy and daughter Heidi Marozas (Kurt), and children Mason, Hagan and AJ, all of Olathe, KS. She is also survived by numerous cousins and many, many great friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, April 30 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit. A parish rosary service will be held at 7 PM Friday, April 29 at the McDonald Funeral Home, and visitation will be from 1 PM until the rosary service begins. Memorials may be given to the Vicki Welsh Ovarian Cancer Fund or the St. John's Bell Restoration Fund. The casket will remain closed.
