Patricia Joan was born on August 5, 1931 to Joseph Dean and Melva Dalrymple Prickett in Simpson, Kansas. She departed this life of 81 years 5 months and 23 days on Monday morning, January 28, 2013 at the Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital in Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
Patricia graduated from Simpson High School then attended Brown Mackie in Salina, Ks.
She met James Thomson in Plainville while visiting with friends. They were engaged within a month on Thanksgiving Day and married the next month on December 21, 1952. Two sons James J. and Timothy Ray were born into this union.
Patricia loved to cook as well as work in her garden. She also enjoyed crocheting and had a special liking for bears. Patricia would never miss one of her soap operas and always had time for The Price is Right.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, and a daughter-in-law Kathy. Left to mourn her passing are her sons James J. of Osborne and Timothy Ray of Emporia; seven grandchildren, Billy Jo, James Daniel, Addy Marie, Heather, Luke, Tommi, Jake, and 7 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 2 at the Dean Funeral Home in Glasco. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
