Patty J Cooper

September 30, 1939 — December 4, 2019

Beloit

Patty Jean (Fulhage) Cooper was born September 30, 1939 in Toronto, Kansas to Ernest and Olive Van Pelt Fulhage. She lived there with her family until they moved to the farm south of Beloit, when Patty was still small. She went to country school until she entered high school, and then attended Beloit Jr. Sr. High School in town. After graduating from high school, Patty attended Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, KS for one semester. After returning home due to illness, she began working for Cunningham Telephone in Glen Elder, where she met Howard Cooper.

Patty and Howard married March 14, 1970 at Hopewell Church, just south of the farmstead where Patty grew up. They resided in Glen Elder and continued working at the Telephone company until retirement.

Later on, they moved to Beloit, where you would always see Patty working in her yard. Another of Patty's joys were her beloved chihuahuas and displaying family photographs around their home. She also enjoyed making special treats for her grandchildren and nieces at Halloween time. A big part of their lives was spending the winters in Arizona for many years, where they enjoyed hiking in the Superstition Mountains.

Patty passed away peacefully December 4, 2019 at the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, and brother Dean.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her two siblings, Anita Yost and husband Clyde of Kansas City, MO, and Darrell Fulhage and wife Jocile of Beloit; stepsons, Mike and Bruce Cooper of Beloit; brother-in-law, Rod Cooper of Glen Elder; nieces and nephews, Shari Hurlbutt of Coffeyville, KS, Scott Fulhage (Cyndy), and Melissa Brown (Jerry) of Beloit, Steve Yost (Shannon) of Texas, Cindi Yost (Tim) and David Yost (Therese) of Kansas City; step-grandchildren, Porche and Alex Cooper, and Pepper Roberg and Michelle Harr of Beloit; and a host of other relatives.

Visitation will be from 1-7 PM with family present from 5-7 PM Sunday, December 8 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.
