Randy M. Jensen

May 29, 1954 — July 20, 2014

Randy Mervin Jensen, the son of Robert Gene and Myrna Kathleen Deepe was born May 29, 1954 in Salina, Kansas and went to Heaven on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.

Randy worked as a chef and was highly known for his cooking skills and talents. He worked in Manhattan and for a time was the Beloit Country Club Bar Operator. For many years, his large homemade sticky pecan breakfast rolls were very desired by his many patrons at Jensen's Café in downtown Beloit. Besides rolls, his Mexican food entrees, steaks, seafood, sandwiches and breakfast omelets were among customer favorites.

He had a personality of high spirits, friendliness, and wit which drew no strangers. "You wanna try my pie?" was one of his favorite remarks that he frequently made to all who knew him. He always cared and showed concern for others in a happy and calm manner.

Besides running the café, Randy treasured his family. The best times of his life were truly spent with his parents and only brother. At age three, he 'directed' the Disneyland Band in California; is parents watched with glee as he directed with the baton. He loved taking family fishing trips to Canada, playing ball with his brother Rollin and his friends, playing golf with his family, watching westerns on TV, listening to classical music and opera arias, and playing on his drum set. Randy truly lived life to the fullest.

He attended church in Salina as a young man. After coming to Beloit, he served as a trustee of the Solomon Valley Eagles Club.

Those whom he leaves behind are his mother Myrna of the home; one brother Rollin S. Jensen and wife Nikki of El Dorado, KS; a nephew Tracy A. Jensen of El Dorado, a host of many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Although his earthly life is over, Randy is with us in spirit. We thank God for his time of life on earth that he was with us.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 25, 2014 at First Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family Expense Fund.
