Raymond Russell Farr, 91, died May 2, 2009 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas. Raymond, son of Thomas and Lillian Farr, was born October 10, 1917. He attended Roundtop School. He married (Alice) Marian Walter on September 29, 1940 in Osborne, Kansas. They were involved in farming and raising livestock in the Beloit area. Raymond loved his family, enjoyed everything about farming, and in his later years liked taking trips around the area. Raymond and Marian had two daughters.
He is survived by his wife, Marian; daughters, Barbara Harmon and husband Gary of Salina, and Phyllis Wilkey and husband John of Sterling; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lillian Farr; brothers Clarence and Gerald Farr; and sisters Maude Holway, Marjorie File, and Geneva Louder.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 6 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Beloit followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 5 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hilltop Lodge.
