Richard Clayton Daws, the son of Richard and Helena Hosch Daws, was born December 14, 1936, at Sioux City, Iowa. He died May 25, 2006, at the Mitchell County Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Beloit, Kansas, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 11 days.
Richard, or "Dick" as he was known, attended St. Frances School in Randolph, Nebraska, Milford Trade School in Milford, Nebraska, and Northeast Technical College in Norfolk, Nebraska. He enlisted in the US Army in 1955, and was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. After his discharge in 1957, he returned to the Randolph, Nebraska area where he was engaged in farming.
On June 21, 1958, Dick was married to Bonnie Riessen, and the couple raised four children. They had been privileged to spend nearly 48 years of married life together.
Dick entered the Farmland Industries system and served as general manager of Co-ops in Nebraska, Kansas and Texas. He served as Credit Manager of Farmway Co-op in Beloit, Kansas, from 1997 until his retirement in 2003.
Dick enjoyed collecting and restoring classic cars and playing cards. Family was very important to Dick as he was very proud of all of them, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Beloit, Kansas; his children, Kirk and Jolene Daws of Battle Creek, Iowa, Kent and Tammy Daws of Grand Island, Nebraska, Karli Daws of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Koni and David Overstreet of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Kevin and Amy Daws, Tony and Nelisha Daws, Adam Daws, Megan Daws, Abby Daws, Chelsie Daws, Shani Daws, Ellie Daws, Jessie Daws and Isaiah Daws; three brothers, John of Dike, Iowa, Jim of Seward, Nebraska, and Joe of Victorville, California; and four sisters, Carol Murphy of Crete, Nebraska, Mary Sklenar of McCool Junction, Nebraska, Helen Ann Darlington of Seward, Nebraska, and Kathy Skala of Geneva, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 30,at St. Frances Catholic Church in Randolph, Nebraska. A vigil service will be at 3:30 PM Sunday at the McDonald Funeral Home in Beloit, Kansas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Sunday.
