Rita Caroline Conn was born June 24, 1944 to Edward Carl and Ruth Kathleen Ryser at home in Atchison, Kansas. She departed this life of 70 years Friday evening, November 14, 2014 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas.

Rita and her family moved to north central Kansas when she was a small child. She graduated from Clyde High School.

On September 2, 1974 she married Darrel K. Conn at the Ada Lutheran Church near Kackley. This happy union was blessed with two sons Dusty and Chris. After her marriage, they lived for a time in the Jamestown & Scottsville area before moving to the Asherville area where they enjoyed their rural home.

A friendly, hardworking and people loving person, Rita enjoyed life. She worked at several places in the Beloit area, always making friends along the way. She especially enjoyed being the Shipping and Receiving Clerk for Carrico Implement Company.

Rita's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved doing things with them, whether it be a birthday celebration with her sisters or a camping adventure at Lake Waconda. Rita loved the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Many a happy evening was spent on her deck visiting with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Wendell Ryser and one sister Karla Cauley.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her husband Darrel of the home; sons Dusty Conn and wife Jodi of Scottsville, Chris Conn and wife Jamie of Beloit; one uncle Royal Ryser and wife Regina of Loveland, CO; siblings Dale Ryser of Concordia, Linda Hammans and husband John of Augusta, Mark Ryser of Tacoma, WA, Kay Friend and husband Buck of Clay Center, NE, Melody Hanchett and husband Leland of Phillipsburg, Ted Ryser and wife Jane of Clyde, Lisa Koch of Lawrence, KS; five grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the McDonald Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in the Hawks Cemetery at Cuba, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Rebecca Morrison House. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
