Rocky Joseph Edwards was born on December 16, 1973 in Beloit, Kansas. He died on Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit at the age of 32 years, 11 months, and 11 days.
He grew up in the Beloit area before graduating from Beloit High School with the Class of 1992. Following graduation, he worked for Sunflower Manufacturing, and later, worked for OCCK in Beloit.
Rocky enjoyed all kinds of sports, whether it be Dale Earnhardt Jr. in racing, the Kansas City Chiefs in football, the Kansas Jayhawks in basketball, the Atlanta Braves in baseball, or The Rock in wrestling. He also greatly enjoyed listening and singing along to music. Rocky had a great sense of humor, and flashed a special grin or gave a chuckle. He also had a significant circle of special friends – Scott Fulhage, Kent Jamis, Marti Chapman, Jodie Kohn, and many others.
He was involved with Special Olympics and attended the Broken Arrow Ranch Camp for the Blind.
Rocky was preceded in death by his grandparents, and a sister, Jacqueline.
He is survived by his mother, Margie Stout of Beloit; a step-father, Keith Gray of Beloit; two brothers, Jerry Stout and his wife Shelly of Beloit and James Stout and his wife Judy of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and special friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday, December 2 at the McDonald Funeral Home followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to OCCK, Special Olympics, or the Broken Arrow Camp for the Blind. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
