Rodney Forrest Cox was born February 6, 1964 to Norman and Sondra Sue Wilson Cox at Beloit, Kansas and departed this life of 51 years Thursday, June 11, 2015 at his home in Salina, Kansas.
"Rod", as he was known and loved by all, attended school at Beloit and later at Washington.
On December 22, 2009, he married Doria Winters-Ritz at their home and then had a church wedding the following May 15, 2010. Joining from previous marriages were daughters Shaila, Abbigail, Josephine, and Sara.
Rod worked as a truck driver and construction worker. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Rod was the life of the party. He always had a listening ear and good advice to give. His children and grandchildren were very special to him. As a construction worker, he worked for Blass Construction from August, 2009 until August 2013 at which time he moved to Salina because of failing health.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his wife Doria of the home; daughters Abbigail Cox of Glasco, Josephine Cox of Topeka, Sara Cox of Glasco; stepdaughter Shaila Ritz of Salina; brother Randy Cox and wife Cathy of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pam Magallanes and husband Vincent of Beloit, Rhonda Brummer and husband Danny of Beloit; Lisa McClary of Plains, Kansas; two beloved grandchildren Audrey Cox and Hunter Roberg, and a host of many relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 19, 2015 at the McDonald Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund. Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation.
