Rose Ann Rooker

July 26, 1947 — February 9, 2008

Rose Anne (Buser) Rooker passed away February 9, 2008, at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Ks. Rosie, as she was known to many, was born on July 26, 1947, in Beloit, Kansas, the ninth child of Daniel John and Henrietta Ann Mindrup Buser.
Rose grew up on the farm north of Cawker City and attended St. Theresa's Grade School. She graduated from Cawker City High School. Rose then attended Salvatore's Beauty School in Sacramento, Cal., where she earned a certificate and received her beautician's license. She worked in Denver, Co., as a beautician for several years before returning to her roots in Ks.
In Cawker City Rose worked at the Northside Café as a cook and waitress. This is where she met her husband, Randy. She and Randy Steven Rooker were united in marriage on June 12, 1993. They had a happy but short life together as Randy was called to his heavenly home on August 22, 1994. She and Randy had moved to Salina, but following his death she made her home in Beloit. There she provided care for Shane Kelly, a person with special needs with whom she shared a close bond.
Rose's life was characterized by a deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Savior. She taught herself to tat and created some of her own designs and patterns. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting and was rarely seen without needlework of some type in her hands, although she was never too busy for a good game of cards. She knitted many afghans for family and friends. She sewed many of her own clothes and repaired items for others.
Left to mourn her passing are siblings Barbara Walther of Prescott, AZ; Louise Buser of Cawker City, KS; Mary and Armand Seri of Sacramento, CA; John and Karen Buser of Arlington, KS; Martina and Roderick Arnoldy of Tipton, KS; Gabriel and Paula Buser of Grain Valley, MO; Theresa and Al Becker of Portis, KS; Dan and Alice Buser of Kearney, NE; and Michael and Cecelia Reinert of Downs, KS; one aunt, Regina Otter of Boise, ID; special family friend Joyce Nicholson; 38 nieces and nephews including her godson Kevin Buser, numerous great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
Rose was welcomed into eternity by her husband Randy; parents and grandparents; brothers Don, James, and Joseph; nieces Shawna and Mary Buser, and nephew Rocky Buser; great nieces Karissa Tatro and Molly Walther, and great nephew Christopher Walther.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 12, at St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit with burial at Glenwood Cemetery, Glen Elder. A vigil service will be at 6:30 PM Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home. Memorials may be given for the funeral expense fund.
