Rosemary Deneke

Rosemary Catherine Deneke was born on July 6, 1939 in Tipton, Kansas, the daughter of Casper and Anna Junk Pahls. She died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 16 days.

Rosemary was the youngest of 11 children, and grew up in Tipton, where she later graduated from Tipton High School.

On November 26, 1960, she was united in marriage with Edwin Deneke at St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit. Following their marriage, they moved to a farm east of Beloit. Four children were born to this union.

Rosemary loved to cook and extended her skills as a hospital and restaurant cook for many years. She was also very active in the St. John's Ladies Guild and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She instilled a deep faith in God with everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ed; her daughter-in-law, Sara; brothers, Bud, Ralph, Louis, and Jacob; and her sister, Delores Powell.

Rosemary is survived by her children, Christina Carlin and her husband Pat of Alton, Thomas and his wife Linda of Beloit, Joe and his wife Lori of Beloit, and Catherine Dillon and her husband Matt of Beloit; six very special grandchildren, Joshua, Luke, Nicole, Grant, Ethan, and Evan; brothers, Lawrence of Salina and Merwin of Beloit; sisters, Lilliann Harris of Bosier City, Louisiana, Helen Blado of Great Bend, and Angela Faltine of Topeka; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, April 27 at St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 3 PM Thursday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home, and a vigil service will be at 7 PM Thursday at the Church. Per her wishes, the casket will remain closed. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or the St. John's Ladies Guild.
