Ruby Elizabeth Mastellar died Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 80 years.
She was born September 10, 1925 to Herman S. and Elizabeth Emily Enz Voth in Goessel, Kansas where she graduated from high school. She continued her education and graduated from Bethel College in Newton, Kansas and received her teaching certificate from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas. Ruby was a retired educator having taught in Simpson and Barnard, Kansas where she taught English and Home Economics. She was the Drama and Pep Club Sponsor at Barnard High School.
On August 2, 1953, she married William Willard "Bill" Mastellar. They made their home in the Barnard community. He preceded her in death as did two infant children Timothy and Elizabeth Mastellar; two brothers Otto and Willard Voth, and one sister Ella Weinbrenner.
Ruby was a member of the Barnard United Methodist Church where she sang at various services and was a prior Sunday School Superintendent. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, singing, and gardening.
Survivors are a daughter Cindy Belles of Atchison; two grandsons DuWayne Belles of Kansas City, Missouri, Dwight Bells, location unknown; four sisters Agnes Gossen of Goessel, Irene Janzen, Marie Voth, and Martha Voth all of North Newton, Kansas; one brother Marvin Voth of Goessel, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Barnard United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Milo Cemetery near Barnard. Memorials may be given to the church, and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the McDonald Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
