Scott Allen Waddell was born July 7, 1983 to Michael Raye and Sherris Elizabeth Wendel Waddell at Beloit, Kansas. He passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009 in Beloit at the age of 26.
As a young boy, Scott worked at delivering the newspapers and mowing lawns. He was very fond of playing football, baseball and kids wrestling, beginning in first grade and continuing through his freshman year of high school. He was a winter homecoming king candidate at Beloit Jr-Sr High School during his senior year.
Scott graduated from Beloit High School in 2002. He attended the North Central Kansas Technical College and received an associate degree in Electronic Technology.
The soft spoken and caring son who loved the outdoors, those closest to Scott will forever remember his good heart, compassion and giving praise to others. Fishing, hunting, canoeing and target shooting were his greatest joys in life. He loved animals and they were always very special to him. Scott enjoyed music; the song "Hurt" by Johnny Cash was among his favorites.
Scott was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Iris and Gene Waddell.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his mother Sherris "Buffy" Waddell of Beloit, his father Michael R. Waddell of Beloit; one brother David Waddell and wife Jessica of Arlington, Texas; sisters Jenny Roper and husband Paul of Canyon Lake, Texas, Elizabeth Costine and husband Phil of Lakeland, Florida, Rachel Waddell of San Marcos, Texas, Haley Waddell of Beloit; maternal grandparents Bob and Joan Wendel of Roeland Park, Kansas; nephews Taelon and Lukas Roper of Canyon Lake, Texas, nieces Skyla Roper of Canyon Lake, Texas, Allison and Lindsay Waddell of Arlington, Texas and countless friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Post Rock Humane Society in care of the Solomon Valley Veterinary Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
