Sharon K. Reling

May 30, 1946 — August 16, 2010

On May 30th, 1946 in Ovid, Colorado, Sharon Kay was the first born that came to bless the home of Dennis Gene and Lois Bess Sharp Loyd. She was later joined by three sisters Linda, Trudy and Marlene. She passed from this life Monday, August 16th, 2010, in the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems, Beloit, KS, and will join her mother who passed away July 28th, 2005, her grandparents Benjamin & Lela Loyd and Burdette & Bess Sharp. She spent many happy times with her grandparents.
During her junior year she caught the eye of a senior Donald Carl Reling. This friendship grew. After she graduated from Cawker City High School in 1964 things got more serious and on February 13th,1965, she became his bride. They spent 45 years of many happy times. Two of their joys were two daughters Pamila Kay and Paula Annette. Then came four grandsons, Levi Donald & Wyatt Joseph Brummer and Chase Allen & Trey Alexander Turner. Her entire life was spent enjoying all family and her pets who were part of her family too.
Sharon loved to get into a store and shop for clothes for the girls and boys. She spent many happy times on trips with the family. They enjoyed going on a cruise and she wanted to go on another one. They even went to Disney World when Wyatt was not quite two months old. She dearly loved Angels and Sharon was an Angel herself. She collected Angels, receiving many as gifts. She liked to embroidery. She had embroidered bedspreads for her two daughters. She also enjoyed a good book.
Sharon worked at the Downs Nursing Home and then attended the Vo-tech School in Beloit and became an LPN. She continued working at The Golden Living Center of Downs until she retired about two years ago. She had a special way of working with the residents there.
She is survived by her husband Donald of the home; daughters Pamila & Bill Brummer, Cawker City, Paula & Darrin Wendlandt, Salina; grandsons Levi & Wyatt Brummer, Cawker City, Chase & Trey Turner, Salina; father Dennis Gene Loyd, Cawker City; sisters Linda and Bob French, Beaver Dam, AZ, Trudy Loyd, Marlene & Gary Gentry from Peetz, CO.; nieces Patricia Miller, Gering, NE, and Janette & Ron Rodenbaugh and grand nephew Jere Robert Rodenbaugh, Pottstown, PA; sister-in-law Dorothy Reling, Cawker City; foster granddaughter Katie Ratliff, Cawker City.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, August 20 at the Ligthouse Community Church in Downs followed by burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cawker City. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Family Expense Fund or the Church.
