Sondra Sue Engelbert died on June 3, 2012 at Salina, Kansas at the age of 73. She was born on March 28, 1939. She loved her family and was an avid University of Kansas basketball fan. She worked for the Beloit Correctional Facility, and retired after more than 30 years. Prior to working at the correctional facility, she worked as a dispatcher for the Beloit Police Department and the Sheriff's office in Washington, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Engelbert; her parents, Forest and Thelma Wilson; and a granddaughter, Destiny Cox.
She is survived by five children, Randy Cox and his wife Cathy of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Rhonda Brummer and her husband Danny of Beloit, Pam Magallanes and her husband Vincent of Yuma, Arizona, Lisa McClary of Mulvane, and Rodney Cox and his wife Doria of Beloit. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 5 nieces; her brother Rod Wilson and his wife Bonnie of Beloit; and a sister, Marilyn Strecker of Salina.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 7 at McDonald Funeral Home. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Post Rock Humane Society or the Mitchell County Relay for Life.
