Steven D. Carlton

Steven Dwane Carlton, the son of Gene and Georgia Rarick Carlton, was born March 7, 1956, at Concordia, Kansas. He died September 28, 2007, as the result of an auto accident on US Highway 81 near Delphos, Kansas.
Steve attended Beloit High School and was trained in auto mechanics at the North Central Kansas Vo-Tech School in Beloit. He worked for a car dealership in Great Bend for several years and then returned to Beloit where he worked for Fuller Chevrolet Company until it closed and was currently a mechanic for the Beloit Auto and Truck Plaza.
Motorcycles were Steve's favorite pastime and he greatly enjoyed riding and working on them. He participated in many poker runs, and rode for Toys for Tots.
He is survived by his wife, Kim of the home who was seriously injured in the accident; his father, Gene Carlton of Beloit; a brother; Troy Carlton and his wife, Angie of Omaha, Nebraska, and their children, Cassie, Savannah, Alivia and Grant; a sister, Nancy Hyman and her husband, Jim of Beloit; a niece, Mindy Wingler and her husband Josh of Lindsborg, Kansas; two step-children, Becky and Jennifer of Beloit; his mother-in-law, Melva McGuinn of Beloit; and four step-grandchildren, Dakota DeDonder, Ana Enloe, Delana Enloe, and Brian Enloe Jr.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia; and a nephew, Mark Railsback.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 5, at the McDonald Funeral Home with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed. Memorials may be given to Toys for Tots.
