Steven Michael Dean, 63, of Junction City, passed away Monday, June 4th, 2018 at Salina Regional Health Center.
Steve was born on June 12th, 1955, in Concordia, Kansas, the son of Lewis Parker Dean and Vivian Jeanette Brown Dean.
He attended Glasco public schools where he graduated in 1974. After high school he went on to attend NCK vocational school in Beloit ('79) graduating in 1981. From 1982 to 2001, Steve worked for Jeffrey Energy Center in St. Marys, Kansas, before leaving he became a master electrician and went on to start his own electrical business, Int-Elect, working in the Manhattan area. On August 17th, 1979 Steve married Koko Nuss in Concordia and on May 1st, 1989, they were blessed with a son, Parker. They divorced in 2005.
Steve was a very talented and strong-willed man with a knack for fixing just about anything. He enjoyed traveling to Colorado to ride dirt bikes with Parker, camping and working outside. He was a loving dad, proud "Papa Teve" and a great friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a son, Parker Dean (Marissa Streeter) and a granddaughter, Alexis, all of Wamego, Kansas, a brother, Dennis Dean of Fredonia, Kansas, and a sister, Deanna (Dennis) Plotts of Huntsville, Alabama, and three nephews; Jason Dean, Jonathan Plotts and Nathan Plotts.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday June 23rd, 2018, at the Dean Funeral Home in Glasco, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the funeral expense fund.
