Susie Jones-Hoppe

Susie was born on February 10, 1970 in Silverton, OR to parents Allen and Linda Sue Jones. She died January 30, 2022 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 51.

Susie graduated from Kelso High School in 1988. She married Scott Risner, Sr. in 1988, and later divorced. To that union, two sons were born, Scott Jr. and Christien.

In 2011, Susie met Jerry Hoppe in Rainier, OR and she moved to Kansas to start their lives together.

Through the years in Susie's life in Kansas, she enjoyed working in retail and dealing with the public. Susie's last job was at Ray's Apple Market, where she was a cashier. She especially loved her regular customers who made it a point to come to her checkout lane. They loved her personality and smile, and she brightened their day. One of her regulars, Ron, brightened her day and she enjoyed coffee with him at the Kettle.

Susie loved spending time with her three dogs, Derby, Sebastian, and Mia. She called them her kids. She was very fond of their seven horses, and loved feeding, grooming, and spending time with them.

In the 10 ½ years that Susie was with Jerry, she loved trucking and riding behind Jerry on the motorcycle trips with family and friends.

Some of Susie's happiest times was spending time with their grandkids. Susie's love for all children was evident in looking through her pictures and seeing her smile.

Susie was preceded in death by her mom, Linda Sue, and brother, Ted Carson.

She is survived by husband, Jerry of Glasco, KS; siblings, Michelle Wilson of Tuttle, WA, Corey Jones of Tuttle, WA, Tonya (Oscar) Perez of Silverton, OR, Ronnie Rue of Oregon, Dawn Jones of Longview, WA, Justin Setters of Longview, WA, Jared Setters of Longview, WA, Leigh (Todd) Gerloff of Meeker, CO, and Troy Carson of Arizona; sons, Scott (Rachael) Risner Jr. of Bremerton, WA, and Christien Risner of Longview, WA; daughters-in-law, Chatlie Moore and grandson Jackson of Lake City, FL, and Amber Rettig and granddaughter Kyra of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Millie, Laynie, Aubrie, and Libbie Martin of Sheridan, WY, Tyea, Quinton and Cyrus Schlaefli of Cawker City, KS, Chay, Kanen, and Peyton Gentry of Beloit, KS, and Boedi, Addy, and Kaylynn Long of Solomon, KS.
