Taylor Crumbaker

September 23, 1995 — September 8, 2025

Beloit

Taylor Litton Crumbaker, age 29, of Beloit, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 8, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, just days before celebrating his 30th birthday.

He was born September 23, 1995, in Salina, Kansas, the son of David and Rebecca (Litton) Crumbaker. Known as, KU's, "The Miracle Child," Taylor spent from four months of age to eight months fighting valiantly to live at KU Med before coming home to his older sister, Mariah, and his twin brother, Baron. Though it took time for him to find his sound, Taylor grew into his own unique and special voice. Despite his early struggles, he was never sad, never unkind, and truly remarkable to all.

From childhood, Taylor had a deep fascination with trucks and trailers, always inventing new ways to hitch things together while experimenting with his trikes and bikes. Adventurous and a bit ornery, he loved climbing, trying anything new, and pulling pranks that became a hallmark of his playful spirit.

Taylor grew up in Beloit and graduated with the Beloit High School Class of 2014. He later studied at Manhattan Technical College and NCK Tech, where he earned his journeyman's license. His career path reflected his love for hard work and people: he worked with Pestinger Heating & Air in Salina, spent time alongside his brother on heavy equipment, and later joined Shamburg Oil. In 2021, Taylor purchased the Shamburg Oil station, pouring his heart into it. He would put his own stamp on the business developing it into Crumbaker Oil and Feed with his wife Maggie and family.  He loved the business, cherished serving his community, and considered every employee, past and present, part of his extended family.

In the summer of 2021, Taylor met Maggie Shaw, who became the love of his life. After three years of laughter and adventures, they were married on June 8, 2024, in Beloit. Together they built a joyful and lively home filled with love, three dogs—Neva, Phoebe, and Lucy—a cat, a calf, a flock of chickens and an emu named, "Gerald."

Taylor's hands were rarely still. He had a passion for welding, building, and fabricating, often dismantling things just to repurpose them into some new contraption.  When asked how he was going to do something his standard reply was, "I'll figure it out."

He enjoyed deer hunting, and time spent at the lake, creek, or sand dunes always with a clan of friends. Taylor had a natural gift for teaching, encouraging others with patience and reminding them there were no wrong questions. His energy and joy were magnetic with people always drawn to him.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie of the home; parents, David and Rebecca Crumbaker of Beloit; sister, Mariah Crumbaker-Banker and husband Mark of Salina; twin brother, Baron Crumbaker and wife Kait of Beloit; nieces and nephews, Eli and Colette Banker, Oliver Crumbaker, Rhett and Tulsa Tien; parents-in-law, Wendy and JP Shaw of Glade; brother and sister-in-law, Trevor and Whitney Tien of Glade; along with a host of extended family and countless dear friends.

Taylor was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Evan and Blanche Crumbaker, and his beloved grandmother, Neva Litton, with whom he shared a special love for the color yellow.

Taylor's life was a beautiful testament to resilience, joy, and love. His adventurous spirit, gentle heart, and endless humor will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.

Memorial services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, September 17 at the Beloit Municipal Building followed by burial at Greenmound Cemetery south of Asherville. The family would like to encourage everyone to honor Taylor by wearing yellow! Visitation will be from 1-7 PM, with family present from 4-6 PM Tuesday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation or Waconda Cultural Association.
