Timothy Jerel Almond

Timothy Jerel Almond, 75, of Beloit, Kansas, passed away on June 16, 2026.

Timothy was born on March 7, 1951, in Albemarle, North Carolina, and was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated high school before enlisting in the United States Army at just 17 years old on August 28, 1968. He honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as part of the 101st Airborne Division. During his service, he earned numerous commendations, including the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and qualification as a First Class Gunner on the M-60 machine gun as well as many that are not listed.

Following his service, Timothy returned home from Vietnam and began building a life rooted in hard work, family, and perseverance. He married his first wife, Vicki Simpson, and together they had two daughters, Jenny and Penny. Later in life, he married Michelle Almond, and the two shared many years together, building their life in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Timothy worked in several professions throughout his life, including car sales and carpentry. He had a natural gift for sales and was often joked to be able to “sell anyone anything,” even an empty brown paper bag. He was always willing to help his family and those around him and would give anything he had if someone was in need.

He had a lifelong love of fishing, which remained his favorite pastime. Many cherished memories were made on early morning fishing trips with his daughters, who fondly remember those quiet and meaningful moments together. He also had a passion for cars and took pride in keeping them spotless.

In his later years, after the passing of his father, Timothy and his wife Michelle moved back to Beloit, Kansas, to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren, valuing family above all else.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Almond and Cora Berringer of North Carolina; his wife, Michelle Almond of Beloit; and his brothers, David and Dean Almond, and sister Gail.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth (Brenda) Almond of Charlotte, North Carolina, his daughters, Jenny (Jeff) Wessling of Beloit, Kansas, and Penny Nease of Concordia, Kansas; as well as several grandchildren and an abundance of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Blessing House in Beloit on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Following the funeral, burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia, Kansas.
