Veva B. Banks

Veva Beth Slate Banks was born October 28th, 1931 to Claude and Gemma Faye Topliff Slate on a farm in Browns Creek Township in Jewell County, Kansas. She passed away at the age of 84 on March 29th, 2016 in Beloit, Ks.
She was one of 9 children, Violet, Virgil, Vera, Vivian Ray, and four infants all of whom preceded her in death. Their mother died February 17th, 1937, leaving Claude to raise 5 children alone.
Veva married James E. Banks August 29th, 1950 in Stockton, Ks. Seven children were born to this union. That marriage was later dissolved.
Veva had a passion for the out of doors; gardening, admiring flowers, bird watching, and her pets. She enjoyed a simple life. Though there were many difficulties she managed to successfully raise her seven children. She was a devoted Christian all of her life and loved her Lord. She is rejoicing in heaven today free of suffering and pain.
Survived by children deeply blessed to have her as their mother are: Reba Koch and husband Dale of Beloit, Ks., Kerry Banks and wife Tina of Neosho, Mo., Dianna Jones and husband Steven of Ponchatoula, La., Jamie Banks of Beloit, Ks., Angela Venable and husband Chuck of Ostrander, Oh., Kevin Banks of Beloit, Ks., and Kim Banks and wife Ann of Neosho, Mo. She was dearly loved by her grandchildren, great grandchild, nephews, nieces and extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be at 10 AM Friday, April 1 at the McDonald Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen & there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice.
