As We Reflect…We Remember
Vivian Lee (Lomax) Humphrey was born to John Sidney Lomax and Donna Lois (Wideman) Lomax on May 17, 1943 in Beloit, Kansas. She entered the gates of heaven on October 1, 2022 at Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.
In July 1964 Vivian married Larry Humphrey. To this union 3 sons were born. Jeff, Greg & Rick. Vivian worked over 40 years for Fred Jones Manufacturing in Oklahoma City, OK. She loved small dogs and cared for many over the years. Vivian was a quiet person and a good listener. She will be missed by so many who loved her. She was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vivian also loved to visit Waconda Lake. She found it to be a place she could go and relax.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and her son Jeff. Left to mourn her passing are her children: Greg Humphrey (Janell), & Rick Humphrey; one sister Georgia Gwen Putman & one brother Billie Hugh Lomax (Karen). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Shelton Humphrey (Aireal), Tanner Humphrey (Sam), Colten Humphrey (Emily), Kristyn Rogers Shawver (Kayla), Isaiah Shawver & Tripp Humphrey as well as 6 great grandchildren: Kloey, Kaiden, Hayden, Mixon, Malachi & Anna. 5 nieces, three nephews and a host of other family and friends.
She has been cremated, and she had wished to be buried next to her parents in Prairie Grove Cemetery north of Cawker City. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Prairie Grove Cemetery at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2022.
