Wanda Clark

Wanda Lee Gentry Clark was born June 25, 1932 in Beloit, Kansas to Flavel and Elma West Gentry. She passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Resident Care Center, Beloit following a year and a half stay. Her father passed away when she was five, so it was only her mother and younger brother DeWayne. She grew up in Beloit, except for a few years during WWII, when they lived in Wichita. Wanda attended school in Beloit, graduating with the Class of 1950.

She married her classmate, Donald Clark on October 22, 1950 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Beloit. They were blessed with three children, Jerry Lynn, Ronald Wayne, and Barbara Ann. Wanda and Don were married 67 years before his passing in 2018.

Wanda worked at the ASCS Office (FSC) in Smith Center and Beloit for many years.

Wanda was a quiet, loving person whose family and friends were very important to her. She loved to do crafts with Barb, making many cherished gifts. She started making small Christmas ornaments, cutting them out on the scroll saw, delicately painting them, then giving them away as gifts. Her family has many on their Christmas trees to cherish.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Don; daughter, Barb Peters; her parents; sister-in-law, Donna Gentry; and four great-grandchildren, Kaden and Savannah Clark, Tyler Clark, and Bailey Clark.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Robi) of Glen Elder, Ronald (Darlene) of Clay Center; son-in-law, Carl Peters of Emporia; grandchildren, Tracy (Valerie) Clark, Kevin (Laura) Clark, Garry (Lindsey) Clark, Jackie Clark, and Jenna Peters; four great grandchildren, Laney Clark, Katie and Ashley Clark, and Kaleb Clark; brother, DeWayne Gentry; brother-in-law, Junior Clark; and numerous relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 9 at the Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM Monday, June 8 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Resident Care Center or Solomon Valley Hospice.
