Wanda N. Dreibelbis was born on November 11, 1929 in Plevna, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Bessie McRevey Wipf. She died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Mitchell County Hospital at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 16 days.
Wanda grew up in Langdon, Kansas, and following graduation from Langdon High School, attended Emporia State Teachers College where she received her teacher's certificate. She taught at the Amish Harmony School in Yoder, where she met her future husband Neal Dreibelbis.
On July 2, 1949, she and Neal were married. They moved frequently with the military until settling down in Beloit. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1971, where they lived for 24 years before moving back to Beloit in 1995. They were privileged to be married for 47 years when he died in October of 1996.
Wanda started the TOPS Chapter, and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital and at the Economy Shop for many years. She loved her jewelry – making sure to match up with her shoes, outfits, and purses. She also enjoyed walking, reading, writing letters, and going to garage sales.
In addition to her husband Neal, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Cleda Schwartz; and her grandson, Teddy II.
Wanda is survived by her children, Linda and husband Roland Wood of West Valley City, Utah, Patience and husband Tim Walter of Topeka, Penelope and husband Harvey Cox of Beloit, Ted and wife Shawn of Kennewick, Washington, Tim of Beloit, and Lora Dreibelbis and husband Bj Kamana'o of Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be 10 AM, Wednesday, May 31, at the McDonald-Roberts Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1PM-8PM with family present from 5PM-7PM. Burial will be at 3PM on Wednesday in Valley Township Cemetery in Haven, KS. Memorials may be given to the Perdue House, Alzheimer's Association, or TOPS Club, Inc.
