Wanda G. Greiner

Wanda Geniece Greiner was born on September 17, 1924 on a farm south of Hunter, Kansas, the daughter of Grover and Emma Herr Parsons. She died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 14 days.
Wanda grew up in the Hunter area, where she attended Cedar Country School before graduating from Hunter High School in 1942. Following graduation, she received her Normal Teachers Training, and returned to teach at Cedar Country School as well as the Engels and Elm Creek schools.
On June 16, 1947, she was united in marriage with Harold D. Greiner at the Hunter Lutheran Church. Two children were born to this union.
Wanda greatly enjoyed the farm and livestock operation, where she kept active with chores, and spent many hours raising her garden.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Wilbur and Dwight.
She is survived by her husband, Harold of the home; one son, Doug Greiner and his wife Mary of LaCygne, Kansas; one daughter, Pat Waggoner and her husband Rex of Beloit; seven grandchildren, Christina, Molly, Miranda, Savannah, and Devin Greiner, and Egan and Alec Waggoner; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, June 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hunter with burial at Greenwood Union Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the McDonald Funeral Home in Beloit.
