Wanda L. Sporleder

Wanda Lee Sporleder, daughter of Stewart Arthur and Faye Broyles McDaniel Maley, was born February 12, 1930 in Downs, Kansas. She passed away October 13, 2012 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 1 day.

On April 24, 1954 Wanda was united in marriage to Elmer James Sporleder at Concordia, Kansas. They lived all their married life in Beloit except for five years in Jewell. She worked at the Mitchell County Hospital in the laundry, kitchen and as a CNA until retirement.

Wanda enjoyed her family. She loved the company of her pets and her greatest leisure activities were gardening, crocheting and listening to country music.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Elmer on August 22, 2004, infant daughter Mary Sue on February 25, 1967; sisters Iris Thompson and Shirley Sporleder; brothers Eugene, Carl, and James Maley.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are one daughter Sarah Cady and her husband Larry of Jewell; sons Robert Joe Sporleder and Donald Sporleder of Beloit; grandsons Jeremy, Travis, and Kristopher Cady, and James Flaherty; granddaughters Amy Sporleder and Sarah Flaherty; great grandchildren Shantel and Corbin Cady; one sister Pat Kirk and husband Arvel of Trinity, Texas; one sister-in-law Edna Maley of Hastings, Nebraska; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, October 18 at the McDonald Funeral Home followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund, the Diabetes Association, or Donor's Choice.
