Wesley "Butch" Depoy, Jr.

Wesley Cole "Butch" DePoy, Jr. of Downs, Kansas, passed away on October 14, 2025 in Downs at the age of 51.

He was born on January 27, 1974 in Beloit, Kansas to Wesley Charles DePoy and Deborah Rae (Turner) DePoy.

Butch was a proud graduate of Waconda East High School in Cawker City.

He had a deep love for music, fishing, hunting, and a lifelong interest in all things relating to the military. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and son "Little Wes". Butch was a very good steel fabricator and took great pride in his work. Butch is lovingly remembered by his son, Wesley Caden DePoy; his sister, Darcel Nelson (Joe); his brothers, Shawn DePoy (Holly), and Bryce DePoy (Cassie); his niece, Whitney DePoy; and nephews, Andrew Nelson (Megan), Alec Nelson, Alex DePoy, and Braydon DePoy.

Memorial graveside services will be at 11 AM Saturday, November 1 at the Prairie Grove Cemetery north of Cawker City. Cremation has taken place & there will be no visitation. Memorials may be payable to Darcel Nelson for Funeral Expenses.
