Whilemena Katherine (Willa Kay) Gasper was born on June 21, 1948, to Leo and Crescentia Steichen Gasper in Beloit Kansas. She died November 16, 2024, at Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit Kansas at the age of 76 years.
Willa Kay, as she was known, began her education at the Special Education Center in Salina Kansas for 6 years and then was tutored at home. She entered OCCK, Occupational Center of Central Kansas in 1991and lived and worked there until her passing.
She enjoyed growing up on the family farm south of Tipton surrounded by nature. Willa Kay loved to create artwork and gift it to her family members. She was a very social person, visiting with everyone. She enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and could always be found at the Bingo tent at the annual Tipton Church Picnic.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John.
She is survived by her siblings, Thomas (Teresa) of Olathe; Steven (Leticia) of Tipton; Janelle of Beloit; Roland (Terri) of Salina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A rosary service will take place at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 14th at St. Boniface Church in Tipton. Cremation has taken place. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Tipton Community Foundation or Special Olympics.
