Wilfred Adolph Pahls was born March 4, 1923 to Adolph and Margaret Ketter Pahls in Tipton, KS. He passed this life on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the age of 88 years old at Hill Top Lodge in Beloit, KS. Wilfred was raised 3 miles west of Tipton on the family farm. He enlisted into the United States Army in February of 1943. While he was in the army, he qualified as a Rifle Marksman and received the "Good Conduct" medal. After his discharge he returned to the family farm where he continued his love of farming until his retirement at the age of 80.
In 1977, Wilfred married his love Mary Lou and her 3 boys. He instantly became a Dad and had the family he always wanted. The boys were always involved in Tipton School activities which he enjoyed attending and watching them. He also loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors with the boys, friends, and his old army buddy from Kansas City.
One of his highlights, since retirement, was going to Washington D.C. 3 years ago as a member of the World War II veterans Honor Flight. Wilfred and Mary Lou and 60 other veterans were able to visit the World War II Memorial and several other Washington sights.
Another joy in Wilfred's life was his 6 grandchildren; he enjoyed taking the kids to the farm and to see the cows. He loved watching them play ball and always wanted to play catch with them. Wilfred was a wonderful husband, Great Dad, Uncle and a Friend to many.
Wilfred was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church of Tipton, Tipton Knights of Columbus, American Legion of Tipton, and a life member of the V.F.W. of Beloit.
