William Borgen

On Monday, December 14, 2020, William "Bill" Ryan Borgen passed away at the age of 86 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Beloit, Kansas, April 18 1934, the only child of Rex and Eva Borgen. He graduated from Beloit High School in 1952 On September 5, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Barabara Jean Chartier. They moved from Beloit to Colorado Springs in 1957. Bill was self-employed for decades as the owner/operator of Conoco and Texaco gas stations in Colorado Springs until his retirement in 2002.

His children fondly remember days of Dad coaching their little league sports, the family road trips, camping, learning to catch & clean fish, and summers spent harvesting wheat on the family farm in Kansas. Bill was an excellent skeet and trap shooter recording numerous perfect rounds. He remained a voracious reader and an avid fan of Kansas State sports to the end.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, and his parents Rex and Eva. He is survived by his children, Jan (Will) Mailloux of Peoria, Arizona; Jayson (Lisa) Borgen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Jeff (Kim) Borgen of Clermont, Florida along with his grandchildren, Brianna Borgen of Salinas, California and Ryan Borgen of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 27 from 3-5 pm at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11 am, December 28th at Elmwood Cemetery, Beloit, Kansas.
